May 30, Kristin Mahnke rated it it was amazing. The series is fictional crime. I am not very sleuth-y but I still enjoy them. I was not disappointed with Cejka's spin on murder mysteries.
I was expected all sorts of wild, adventurous scenes, and instead was given vanilla ice cream. I also would like to ship things. It is through the teasing out of the facts from the suspect, known as Mad Marji, that the reader is taken on a journey, a not quite so conventional mystery, but one that uses a very important aspect of a crime novel or show — and in fact, one that left me wanting to know more about what happened once I had completed the story, not just about Mad Marji, but about the killer set free my the legal system. Quotes from The Princess Diaries. I'm still surprised that about how much I enjoy this story. You can practically feel the chill coming off the page. Refresh and try again.
My favorite part in the whole series is Meg. While she has a great respect for her job and knows who she is, she isn't the conventional detective. She knows she's good at it.
She doesn't have to prove it because she has experience and she can enjoy the job. The Ice Cage is, just like the previous Meg Brown stories, entertaining and fun and just a touch off the wall. Definitely some original writing. If you like Jasper Fforde you may well like these stories too.
